How nice would it be to just grab your morning coffee and spend some extra time perusing your well laid out wardrobe options, carefully mixing and pairing a complete outfit in your own celeb-worthy dressing room of a closet? Amazing.

Well…it’s time to finally give that spare room a purpose. Because what’s the point of having an empty (or random junk filled) spare room when you could have a rocking closet/dressing room? Talk about getting ready in style. But how can you realistically do this…and on a budget?

I’ve complied a stellar list of Pinterest’s best spare room converts for your viewing pleasure. These are all DIY friendly…and cost under $200.

This amazing dressing room is by far my personal favorite and was compiled using a Martha Stewart Living closet kit, which you can purchase for $160 at Home Depot. This room was then personalized using finds from thrift and discount stores, as well as with items the blog author already owned. So depending on what you have, this dressing room can be done for under the $200 budget.

Here is a much smaller (only 10×10) but very well done dressing room. And while the author doesn’t mention a final cost, depending on how handy you are and your thrift store luck, this could also be done for less than $150 since it uses metal rods and wall fixtures rather than a closet system. And now for the cheapest and least work intensive option – this beauty was made by simply taking a tall bookshelf (or two bookshelves depending on your wardrobe size) and attaching tension rods. This is a great idea for a spare room and is even small enough to add into a closet that may be lacking a functional layout. Score the bookshelf at a thrift store and you can easily complete this DIY for under $75. Photo: Christian PF

The most important thing about creating a dreamy closet room is personalization. It doesn’t really matter how much space you have to work with, just create the vibe that you need to enjoy it – you can do this through paint, flooring, décor and customization.
